Rechargeable Batteries for LA1 keyboard and mouse

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good brand of charger and batteries for the LA1 wireless keyboard and mouse? The mouse gets through duracells pretty quickly. The 4 in the keyboard last quite a while but I don't want to be caught out and am looking to be able to keep 6 AAs charged in reserve at any one time.

Hi Howard and welcome to Club Vaio.

I still have the original Alkaline batteries in my keyboard and they have lasted over a year. I don't think it will be worth keeping rechargeables in a state of readiness for the keyboard.

However, the mouse is a real gas-guzzler and I use rechargeables to avoid bankruptcy.

I just use an old set of Jessops AA2300 and a Uniross Sprint which takes about an hour to charge 2300mAh batteries. These work in the mouse for 2/3 weeks.

Hi Blencogo

Thank you for that. Yes, the batteries in the keyboard are still good but I'm on the third set of batts in the mouse in less than a month. Thanks for your advice - 2 weeks is the max I've had from Duracells so far so I'll take your advice.

You could at the last resort remove the batteries from the mouse when not in use. We had this problem at work - 2 AA batteries drained in 10 days

Cheers, floody. I'm getting by with rechargeables at the moment - they're lasting about two weeks but at least I have ready replacements!

Sony do rechargable batteries, so I guess they'd be suitable.
