Recording from TV direct to DVD using GRT78M

I'm no expert.
I get the TV signal into my Sony Camcorder and from there life via iLink into my
Vaio GRV516G
The video stream is captured life by freeware Windows Media Encoder 9.0 (WME) and
stored as Win Media Video (.WMV) on HD.
If need be this .WMV can be imported in freeware Windows Movie Maker 5.1 (WMM) for editing and burning on CD (DVD no experience).
There are various compression choices and editing tools available in WME and WMM.

I guess you could do this with one of Haupagge's Firewire or USB2 solutions.
