Hi guys. When I first got my Vaio SZ330P/B I merged the C drive with D and removed D data. Being an owner of a FE11H I thought that the recovery partition will remain hidden from disk operations. After this, I lost my recovery partition and the way to rollback to the default state.
I assume there is no way to make the recovery disks without having the partition. Is there any way to purchase a set of recovery disks? I tried the Vaio-Link but I cant find them anywhere. Thx
Hi John,
The recovery partition is a hidden, are you sure you have you deleted the recovery partition, you can check by going to Start > Control panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Computer Management..
A new window should open click on Disk Management and maximise the window .
You should see Recovery Partition, C and D partitions.
If the recovery partition is still present try pressing F10 repeatedly when starting you vaio, this normally would start the recovery process.. (make sure you back-up important data first)
Once you Vaio is recovered you should be able to create a set of recovery disc's
Failing that or if you do not want to recover your Vaio, you'll need to contact vaio-Link, best to telephone them, and order a recovery disc set for your Vaio..
Hey. I am sure unfortunatelly. I will have to contact vaio-link, then.
Also, I bought my Vaio from eBay, but still brand-new, in original sealed box. How can I activate the warranty, or whatever i need to do? Thx
Hi John,
Normally for the standard 12 months guarantee you need proof of purchase and your Vaio's serial number..
Have you registered your Vaio ..?
I did contact Sony UK but they mentioned that I have to contact Sony US who doesnt ship internationally. Do you know if the recovery disks will work if they are made in a same series-similar model vaio? Thanks in advance.
Oops I just saw SZ3 I didn't notice it was an US Vaio.. [:">]
I'm not sure if they post recovery disc's outside of the US..
Here is a link for the US support site or you can contact Sony Support USA via this link
