Reinstalling windows 7. Sony vaio E

Hey everyone i have the Sony Vaio e series laptop with windows 7 and recently my anti virus program (Microsoft security essential) picked up a trojan horse. Now although i have removed it i want to reinstall windows again anyway to be sure it's gone and give my computer a clean up. The only problem is i have never done this before and not exactly techincally minded. I created a back up dvd when i bought the thing with the software sony provided

So how difficult is it to reinstall windows 7?

How long does it take?

Is it as simple as following the on screen instructions?

Any advice?

Tia

It's easy but!

make sure you can find all the drivers for your hardware or use drivermax to make a backup of your drivers ;

The Recovery is different depending on the age of your Vaio - so I would follow the Recovery & Troubleshooting Guide published by Sony for your model: -

ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/Manuals/RecoTS/2010Q1_TRG_EN.pdf

Windows 7: When Vaio i new, use Windows 7 to create a Windows 7 recovery DVD.

It is a simple Widows tool.

Also use Norton 360 for Virus. Norton can run a total scan and also provide help to remove new Virus by special remove sw.

Always add an extra HD or NAS via USB or Esata or LAN, to back up all data--a gost mirror of your Vaio.

Do that when new and run realtime back up at changes.
