Remote control not fully functioning

Hi,

After a disk cleanup operation my remote control (on a VGC-V2S) seems to have stopped working properly. Only the stand-by and volume buttons seem to work.

Batteries have been checked (and the fact that stand-by and volume buttons work suggest that the unit is ok.

Is there anything in the disk cleanup (old file compressed, or temp file deleted) that could cause this, and any suggestions as to how to remedy?

Have you tried doing a system restore (not recovery) to a time before you did the disk cleanup operation..

Hi - worked out that i'd installed Google talk beta as well since the remote last worked.

Uninstalled that and it works fine now.
