screen problem

the screen just goes blank after a certain time.... everthing to my knowledge is working, as i can continue to hear it,. The only way to get it working again is to close the lid and wait till it goes into standby, then reopen lid and it will continue to work for a while/// Any advice..... answers to lastflightout69@hotmail.com

Hi jerry1942 and welcome to the forum.

This is a difficult one as there could be a number of things causing the symptoms you describe - driver conflicts or hardware problems (faulty inverter/loose connection/graphics chip problem to name but a few).

You could of course try a Windows System Restore back to a date when all was working, but chances are it is now too late...

Ultimately you need to open a case with Support - I hope that you are still in the warranty period?

I had a similar problem with a VAIO Z1RSP a few years ago. Was due to overheating graphic chip. Sony replaced the motherboard.

But your problem may also be due to drivers or software...
