Screen too dark when playing dvd's

My husband has just bought me a Sony Vaio VGC-LT1S T7250 Desktop computer, browsing the net is fine, viewing programs etc. excellent, but as soon as I try to play a dvd of any sort, the screen is really dark and I can't see the picture, I've tried adjusting the brightness but its up as high as it can go.

Any suggestions please??

Thanks

Hi crazymum,

You should be able to adjust your TV and Video settings in the nVidia Control Panel.

I'm not sure how to access the nVidia Control Panel on your model but it is either going to be in the main Control Panel or, more likely, by right-clicking on a blank part of your screen (the opening screen with all your icons displayed) and choosing 'nVidia Control Panel'.

Choose 'Edit Video settings and Configure TV Settings' -> 'Adjust Video Colour Settings'

You should be able to adjust Brightness/Colour/Contrast there while you play a DVD.
