Settings on VGN-FS195VP

I am missing the possibility to adjust following parameters:
1- speed of modem, which is set per default to 44 kbit/s, what is quite low for a V92 modem!
2- screen contrast and color saturation
Any idea?
Thanks for the time spent
Alain

Welcome, Rike

1- speed of modem, which is set per default to 44 kbit/s, what is quite low for a V92 modem!

Have you ever read the Windows help?

Then you would know that the speed is limited to 53kBit/s. And the normal speed which you can reach is 40-50 kBit/s.
44kBit/s is good for a modem. I was never faster than 46,6 kBit/s

2- screen contrast and color saturation

Use Adobe Gamma loader, Or change the Color settings with Windows

First, thanks for your reply.

I remember to have used several years ago modems with 56 kbit/s, and this with a less performant spec than V92.

I did not find the windows settings allowing to adjust color settings!

Were you actually connecting at 56kbps, I doubt it. As Seb said 44kbps is a very respectable speed for a V92 dial up modem. It has little to do with the performance of you system as your connection speed is governed by the quality of you phone line. I have a pal living out in the sticks (high spec PC) who is lucky to achieve 33kbps and the normal connection is only 28!

To adjust your colour settings right click on a blank area of the desktop, choose Properties > Settings > Advanced > Colour.

Yeah, Rich has right. But you could call the seller or anything....I don't know, it's the TELEKOM in germany. They can test your phoneline and say what's the problem.
