Sony AR11M Sound issues when playing some games...

Hi,

I have a Sony AR11M laptop. Ive installed all the latest drivers possible, and everything is up to date and running perfectly. However, when i run certain graphics intensive games (Half-Life 2, Company of Heroes) the sound quality is extremely poor. The sound is scratchy, and stuttering and very distorted. I do not have this sound problem when i play music through mp3 players (media player) or movies.

I am assuming this has got to do with HD audio, or even the graphics card? Maybe the installed audio apps (SonicStage) perhaps have something to do with this issue. Has anyone had this problem before?

Do you have the SonicStage mastering studio audio filter application running in the systray? If so, try closing the application and see if it helps. I've found that it sometimes causes the kind of distortion that you're getting.

I just uninstalled all components of SonicStage Mastering studio and it seems to have sorted out the sound issue.
