Hi everyone,
I don't know if anyone can help with this at all, but both I and my mother have Sony Vaio laptops. My mother has a problem with logging on at the moment and she is not sure what is causing it and whether it can be fixed, so any help with this anyone can give she (and I) will be very grateful for.
The problem is: she gets to the log in screen, with the initial user log in. The screen comes up with her user name and then the password fills in already without allowing her to put her password in. It is as if she has a key already pressed. She has tried deleting whatever is in that password bar, but it becomes filled in again. She has tried pressing and releasing each one of the keys, but nothing changes.
She did try cleaning the laptop and had sprayed some, I think, window cleaner, on the laptop screen, although she does not think the cleaner went on the keypad, but this problem started after she did that yesterday.
Has anyone experienced this and does anyone know if there is any way of fixing it?
Thanks very much.

Hi Jhodi and welcome.
It does sound like a key is stuck down and it seems possible that it is something to do with the spray cleaner.
Give it a day or two to dry out completely and hope this issue fixes itself but if it doesn't, a replacement keyboard may be needed as there are no user serviceable parts in the keyboard.
