I have bought this laptop from sony and had been using it for a year until suddenly a message pops up and tells me my windows is not genuine, I download that program they give me and enter the product key shown in the start>right click computer>properties bit but it says the windows copy is fake. So I reformatted the computer and reinstalled the operating system from the recovery partition and moved back all my files and the computer was fine for another 6 months. Now the exact same message has come up requesting for me to install this program to validate my windows 7 version. What exactly is going on? This windows version is legitimate, I can't get support from the microsoft website because when I entered the product key it said I had to pay to get support, I can't get support from the sony website because I'd have to phone them which means I'd need a phone, which embarrasingly enough... I don't have (my mobile is in a drain somewhere).
I checked in the forum and someone said to check if the wpa.dll file in system 32 is writable but there is no wpa.dll file on my system.
I am currently using Windows 7 Home premium and I have not got AOL or Multi lingual packages installed.
as an additional question, I'd like to ask something about processors, I noticed that when I went into the system properties, it says my processor is i5 M520 @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz.
If it is a quad core processor should it be 4 2.40GHz? or is this just fine.
This is the website that the error message points me to, I've posted it because I want to know if this website is real since the last time I went along with its instructions it forced me to reformat my computer.
