Sony VGN-S2XP Replacement Drive

Good evening all,

Hope you are all well.

Wonder if anyone here can help me with a small problem.

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-S2XP which is out of warrenty.
Unfortunatetly the Cd/DVD drive has packed out and does not work at all.

Can anyone tell me the model number of a suitable replacement drive for this model and any recommendations where I can buy one from prefabaly in the UK.

Hi mistryjayesh and welcome to ClubVAIO.

There are three different Matshita drives fitted to the S2XP Vaios.

If you want a direct replacement, I would order one from the US HERE. They do ship to the UK.

If you want one from the UK, have a look here - PC World - it should fit OK.

Sometimes there can be a problem fitting the Vaio faceplate to a drive of a different make and I would check this is possible on your model.
