Why is Sony not giving any information about issues with Vista on our notebooks ? Why is there no place (a special forum?) to tell us what to do or what to expect ?
I have installed Vista home premium on my Vaio VGN FE11M and have several problems, even if the vista upgrade adviser said it would be ok. It works ok in general (aero is fine) :
- problem with the bluettoth device driver (I found a solution on the web)
- impossible to run "sony vaio update" anymore
- impossible to find settings for brightness, contrast, or refreshment rate set to 60HZ and can not be changed,
- impossible to set sony vaio power management, not working anymore...
Thank you.
Please note that (for the FE11M anyway) the VAIO Update Version 3.0.00.13220 has been released (together with the Audio driver...)
There are only 2 official downloads for the moment + the ones in the upgrade lists of course.
Please try this, maybe some drivers will be updated automatically now! 🙂

I have got almost everything working now on my FE11M with Vista Ultimate.
Only one thing that doesn't work : when I want to install the Camera utility, it stops installing after a few seconds without any errormessage, and there is no uninstall or camera-entry in the programs list.
What can I try to get it working (rebooting and trying again and again didn't work) ?
Regards,
Marco
Hi!
After a-lot of search i found this site:
http://support.vaio.sony.se/downloads/os/vista/upgrade.html
(the site is in english although the link says .se)
as written if you follow the link above all drivers will be released end of march this year.
But this is a list of currently available drivers.
it solved all my issues with audio, event service, power management, memorystick icon etc.
Hope it can help!
/Sebastian
I have downloaded and installed this version:
Version : 3.0.00.13220 Size : 3.72 MB ( 2/5/2007 10:36:28 AM )
but the File installed VAIOUpdt.exe is:
VAIO Update Version 3.0.0.11250 25-01-2007
Only the Version.txt is 06/02/2007
Do you have the same?
Dear Douidou,
I'm following your message with interest. Same problems.
Where did you find the fix for bluetooth?
Thx!
Do as it is explained earlier, go to the webpage http://support.vaio.sony.ie/downloads/os/vista/upgrade.html and download the drivers you need (you'll find bluetooth as well), that's what I did, it works fine.
When replacing a driver/program, in some cases, depending your config, some driver or utilities have to be uninstalled and re-installed.
in some cases also, after uninstall, you'll need to clean your registry via regedit to be sure ta erase every item containing the name of such program. I am no expert, but I found out all alone. Good luck !
My last trouble is I can not choose a refreshment rate even with the latest Nvidia driver for GO 7400, other than 60 for my screen, don't know why.

When we put the FE41M to sleep (closing the lid) and open to startup again, the screenresolution is changed. We have to put it back manualy. Very enoying problem. Is there a solution to this problem. The just released Bios-update for the problem with the blackscreen doesn't help with this one. Maybe driver problem for the Nvidia.
When will we get the right drivers for the nVidia GeForce Go 7400 ? With the right refresh rate (now it's only 60Hz) and so on ?
Anybody an idea ?
