Speaker Socket

Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX203 and i connected it to my hi-fi using a wire that goes in this little socket behind the PC where the Mic and Headphone socket is as well. The problem is that the top part of the little needle that goes into socket got stuck, and fell off, now the hi-fi kind of works okish but i cant plug anything else in. Also i opened it and its different from usual Graphics Cards... its not in a slot, instead a small black box. I am wondering which option is best:

1. Give it to Sony Centre to repair, will this fall under warratny and if not what is price?
2. Buy a new GCs' card
3. Something else i cant think of but might exist!

Any help would be cool!
Thanks

Tough call, Sony would probably put it under deliberate damage, so buying a new soundcard might be wiser.

OK, the most likely option is to buy a new sound card.......

but, try using the broken plug ...put a TINY dab of araldite rapid on the eid of the toothpick and insert into the hole...leave overnight and then try to pull out both the plug and the broken peice.....

Remember to use a tiny amount of glue...too much and the plug will be glued into the hole for ever !!
might work

yeah i meant Sound card not graphics card :smileyblush:

The way i currently use it is the other side of the broken piece the only thing is that just one speaker is working so its listenable but not really great.

I know Sony will proballys charges loads of ££££ to fix it which i could instead spend on a new sound card.

BTW: Not to start a new thread:
The large 3rd Fan that works only on starting up till the Windows XP loading screen. Why does it only work then, what is the fan for etc?
