after this message you enter in a loop you cannot get out of. ASSIST doesn't work either, it leads to the same error message. any similar experiences and, hopefully, quick fixes? cheers.

can you press ctrl + alt + delete?

Then click run task manager and in the let hand corner press run

Then type explorer.exe
