Switching from laptop screen to external screen (SZ5 XPsp2)

Hi everyone and thanks for your attention,
I downgraded some sony vaio SZ5 from vista to xp and after having installed all utilities and drivers i got everything working as normal (FN keyes etc etc). Now I attached a DVI screen and everytime i power on the laptop i have to manually set the external screen as main screen and it only works in speed mode, in stamina mode i only see the laptop screen and i can't pass the image on the external...

Has anyone of you managed a similar issue or does anyone know if i'm doing anything wrong?

Hi Marco and welcome to Club Vaio.

You can only use an external TFT/DVI screen in SPEED mode. The DVI output does not work in STAMINA mode with the Intel Graphics Chip.

Hi Blencogo thanks a lot for your quick reply, in fact i'm setting the external display to be used as main and only screen by the nVidia GE Force 7400, do you know if there's a way to save this setting in order to have this configuration also on the future reboots of the machine?
