I have recently upgraded to Vista, and this has worked pretty well. However, I've 'lost' the use of the camera in the lid. Any ideas how I can get this back?

this is a very common problem...and probably has very many reasons....

I reported the same thing in the e-support and they came back with a update driver remedy... which itried, despite being told within my new pc that i had all current and up to date drivers... It did fix the problem, but then i immediately lost the function again....i re-ran the driver and it fixed...again... so far it has remained stable but i do not have maximum confidence....... shame cos otherwise..i am LOVING my new VGN FE41S

Hi Palling and welcome to Club Vaio.

This is a known Vista problem with the Vaio camera and it has been escalated to Sony several times. Unfortunately we are still waiting for a reply apart from the usual 'Update Driver' remedy.

A fix that has worked for some was offered by GoodLuc in this recent thread:
