Hi to all! I've got my a417s for about 3 years. at the beginning it worked fine, but for now if it works for more than an hour (yeah 60 min!) the bottom left side of it (where as I noticed a fan is placed) it gets really hot and noisy. this would't be a problem if it would not slow down a lot. a process which takes a couple of minutes when I start it could go twice or even three times as much and the CPU usage is no lower than 100%. fiy: I'm using the exact drivers and software it was shipped when I bought it, I didn't change anything realted to the hardware side... if anyone has any ideas what is going on and how to solve this your help will be much appreciated.
Hi catrrmg,
welcome to Club Vaio..
what is the normal running temperature of your Vaio..?
If your unsure, mobilemeter is a handy application to use..
If your vaio is getting hot you may need to first try clearing the cooling vents of dust with compressed air (you should be able to get this from your local PC shop), holding the can upright give the vents a short blast from a distance of approx. 10cm if you hold the can to close you could damage the fan..
the frequency is no higher than 933 mhz (which is half of its power 2ghz) (as described in the mobile meter option 98.0`C is the passive coolimg temp) and I've got only 10 degrees untill it will reach the critical temp)
the temperature is 98.0`C
hdd temperature 45.0`C
any ideas what should I do?
thanks about the info on cooler: I'll give it a go... but...
