Touchpad trouble

Hello Everybody !

First, I want to apologize for my bad English, I'll try to be understable as possible

I've got a small problem with my VAIO Tx2xp.
I bought it last Friday and I plugged a external mouse (it's more easy).
But now, I am not able to use the scroll fonction of the touchpad till I plugged this damned mouse...
I remove the mouse's drivers but it still doesn't want to work 😞

I didn't find any touchpad files or drivers to set it up again ...
How can I do that plz ?

Best regards

Hi Max and welcome to the Club!

Go to Device Manager (Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager) and click on the (+) to the left of 'Mice and Other Pointing Devices'.

You want 'Alps Pointing Device for Vaio'. If there is another USB mouse there, Right click on it and click on 'Uninstall'.

Right click on the Alps Poining device, click on Properties>Advanced Settings and check that it says "assume Wheel is present" next to Wheel Detection.

Click on 'OK' and see if your touchpad scrolls.

If it doesn't work then you will have to uninstall the Alps Pointing device and reboot your computer. You may have to hold the Power button down to close down if your mouse no longer works! On startup the drivers should be reloaded.

Hello Blencogo !

Thx for your quick answer !

Unfortunately, I don't see any "Alps Pointing Device for Vaio" (even in french ...)
So, I cannot uninstall it 😞

Well, I'll try the "hold power button down" method...
Stay Tuned  (or not)

More by luck than judgement I think!
