My lptop keyboard has been playing up for ages, key "1" does not work by hand but does all by itself.
I now have a usb flexible keyboard (£8 from Aldi) that works ok but i still have the problem of the laptop keyboard "1" operting when it likes.
How do i turn off the laptop keyboard so only the usb keyboard works?
Cheers
Hi hummer_m,
As far as I am aware there is no way to disable a Vaio notebook keyboard. You will need to open the beast and disconnect the cable to the motherboard. This may however produce problems on boot but not necessarily…
I agree, two ways
first if its the plastic key itself causing the problems, remove it (but dont expect ever to get it back on!)
or open the machine up and unplug the keyboard
If you can wait till the end of the week, I'll be opening a Sony up, i can test to see if theres issues with Sony and no keyboard
what model is yours?
Failing that (as its an older sony (celeron 2.0!)) I'll be opening my week old SZ4XWN/C to replace the drive for a 7200rpm one so again i can test.
Thanks for the replies, looks like i have wasted my time on the keybord at the moment then!
I have taken key off a few times to try and clean it to no effect, and yes a nightmare to get back on.
Laptop is PCG-K115S.
