Update trouble!

AAAARRRGGGHH!! Can anyone help me out? I updated my V2M the other week. Now I can't burn discs, my CD/DVD drive seems to have problems recognising certain discs, its just caused a world of trouble. I've tried restoring my computer but it makes no difference and I can find no way of deleting the updates without doing irreparable harm to my computer, and to top it all I don't have a recovery disc!
Er...help?

Hi

Go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and go back a week or so.

Have you tried a Windows System Restore to a date immediately prior to updating?

Go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and go back a week or so.
