Upgrade my Vaio VGN-FS425S

Hi, I would like if I can Upgrade the components of my Vaio. I need more ram and Graffic card. It's possible? Could I buy generic components or must be from Sony?

Hi Tupacsoul,

You can upgrade the memory but not the graphics card.

I cannot find your exact model but the VGN-FS415S can use up to 2048MB of RAM. Check what you have installed (you probably have 2 X 512MB modules) because you only have two slots you will probably have to buy 2 X 1GB modules. Have a look at CRUCIAL.COM - these are well known and respected suppliers (and a lot cheaper than Sony).

Laptops do not have interchangeable Graphics Cards like desktop computers. Your nVidia GeForce Go 6400 is soldered into your main board and cannot be economically changed. You could look for more recent drivers to improve the performance.
