Upgrading Hardware?

Hi there, am new to the forum so apologies if this has been raised before. I currently have a VGN-TX5MN/W which is now a few years old, and I would like to upgrade the processor, motherboard and gfx cards to newer models. Could someone let me know if this is possible and if so how I can go about getting the parts?

Any Advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi steveaust and welcome.

The motherboard is custom to the TX-Series and I doubt that another one would fit. As the graphics are soldered into the motherboard they are not upgradable either.

It may be possible to upgrade the processor but because your TX uses the Intel® Core™ Solo Processor Ultra Low Voltage U1400, an upgrade may be difficult to find. Any upgrade would probably cause overheating difficulties.

All in all, the answer is to upgrade your laptop - it will be cheaper.
