Hi,
I have the GRT895MP with a built in wireless LAN. In order to use this function do I have to buy the following product:
Sony VAIO 802.11g Wireless LAN Access Point PCWA-A320
Will this allow me to connect to broadband without using wires?
Thanks for your help.
James
NO, Any wireless B access point will do.

Hi James
The Sony PCWA-A320 will allow a connection to be made another computer that has an exsisting internet connection.
To access the internet this device would need to be connected to the computer whilst switched on, or directly to an adsl modem.
If you were looking for an all in one solution D-Link (whilst it does not look good) has an all one one box. It features a built in modem, four port hub and wireless conectibity.
More information can be found here
Hope this helps.
Thanks for your help "moodyc". As I do not have a desktop PC connected to the ADSL modem I was thinking of connecting the LAN access point I mentioned above direct to the modem. I only mentioned the Sony product because I have been offered a "Sony refurbished" one from a friend of mine.
So if I connect my GRT notebook to the sony LAN access point mentioned above and if that was connected direct to my broadband modem, I could connect to the internet wirelessly - yes?
Thanks.
James
Hi James
I have just been looking at the specification of the Sony AP (Access Point) which can be found
here
It looks as if it would, although it would depend on the modem having an avalible RJ-45 connection and behaving as a router, do you know the make of the ADSL modem?
