VAIO A series

Hi there!

I`m looking for a new VAIO and i'm very interested in the new A series. But i've seen that the maximum resolution in the 15" models is only 1024 x 768 pixels :cry: !
In USA there are also models with a greater resolution - will this display be available in future in europe ?

Another problem which has just arisen is that the staff in PC World have assured me I would not be able to upgrade the RAM without;
a) Buying it direct from Sony (at twice the price from crucial), and
b) Getting it installed in-store (at extra cost again)
unless I wanted to void my warranty. Is this true?...my last Vaio came with instructions on how to do this and it only took 5 minutes...and it was bought from crucial too. Is this specific to this laptop or are they just trying to scare me into spending more money?
Sorry for all the questions but I just want to get a better idea before I spend £1800 on another computer.
Thanks again

God what a load of crap PC World staff talk. Sony don't mind you upgrading, as long as you use their RAM (you can use Crucial, as they are good). I can't believe some days the scaremongering people do.

Can I suggest eBiuer? It's £1430 there.

Yeah don't believe the lies that PC World tell you.And dont buy from them either.Look at places like;[DABS.com | http://www.dabs.com/uk] [Insight | http://www.insight.com/uk] [EBuyer | http://www.ebuyer.com] Find it much cheaper there.Unfortunately, Sony seem to like to populate both memory slots on their laptops, so be careful before you order extra memory as you will need to discard one stick somewhere along the lines.Also, I believe Sony don't mind you using their memory, Crucial or even Kingston.

Yeah you're right, eBuyer and Insight are both excellent. So are Watford Electronics (also known as Savastore .

Sony are OK with Crucial and Kingston? Cool !cool.gif|___jive_emoticon_name=cool|jivemacro=emoticon|class=jive_macro jive_emote|src=cool.gif!
