VAIO B1XP screen blinking

Two months ago I bought a Sony vaio B1XP and I am very pleased with it . However, there are two things that bother me and are related to the screen. The first is well known and concerns the backlight that is more bright at the bottom. The second (and more annoying) is that my screen from time to time suddenly blinks. There is no deterministic way to reproduce the problem. The blinking can occur while working with the laptop or when idle. That doesn't happend in a specific angle of the display , can happend in various angles. Two friends of mine that have the same laptop have noticed the problem also. Is this a general issue? Do you know a walkaround?

Thanks,
Petros

Some people have had the same problems on the K series too.

Yep - that makes me a statistic then, as I have this problem with the ATi Radeon IGP 345M (Radeon 7000 IGP) and an X-Bright/UltraBright screen on my K115B.

Since my first post I have not noticed this problem reoccuring... Bizarre. I will try reinstalling the Sony drivers to fix the problem... Will reply back if this fixes the problem.

"Intel Graphics Controller Driver Version 6.14.10.3879d for Microsoft Windows XP

That's the update I have installed in my VGN-B1XP.

Is the B1XP the same as the T1XP?

B1XP is not the same laptop as T1XP.
However, the display adapter is the same integrated Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME.
So, the driver is the same because the adapter is the same.

No problems following the update, JeAnDrE??

I have absolutely no problems installing this update.
I just download it, and follow the updating instructions, then I reboot the computer and it's done.
The display adapter in VGN-B1XP is the same of the T1XP, so there is no problem.
Otherwise, Sony wouldn't recommend this update in the B1XP Update Site.
I think the blink problem is really solved!
I have no more "blinks" or "flashes" since I update the driver.

Thanks for that - I updated the drivers, so hopefully an end to the "blinking"!
