VAIO E17 Series DVD Drive to SSD upgrade

Do you know if replacing dvd drive with hdd/ssd (hdd caddy) works?

SONY VAIO E17 (SVE1713xxx/x)

i have replaced standard hdd to ssd, now i want to add one more ssd in dvd tray...

have anyone tried it?

can there be any problems?

what maximum sata speed does dvd drive sata connector support?

dvd drives are SATA1=1.5GB/s , can it support SATAIII?

thanks in advance...

I have not tried it but this may help: -

Your SATA Controller supports 6Gbps but in their FAQ there are compatibility issues with some laptops like the Macbook Pro when using SATA III drives/SSDs and they recommend using SATA II.
