Vaio F12S1E/B - high pitched background noise

My husband noticed an intermittent, high pitched background noise, a kind of a squeak, whenever I run my computer.  Once he pointed it out to me I noticed it too and it is very annoying.  he won't stay in the room if I have my computer on, which is quite a problem!  Has anyone else come across ot, and does anyone know what it means?

...this is in addition to a noisy, continuous fan.

Have you installed the BIOS Update R1110Y6 which is meant to improve fan control.

On the high pitched noise, as it is troubling you, I think I would contact Vaio Support for advice.  Go here: -

and click on 'Get in Touch'.  Enter your Vaio's serial number and go to Telephone Support for the appropriate number to call.
