Vaio shuts down

Hi all, I am new here!!! I have 2 vaios, the older one (PCG-631M) shuts down after aprox. 30 seconds making a noise. I have no idea but I guess it could be the AC adaptor.
I have a new SZ2HP/B and I am thinking of using its battery or AC adaptor for the old PCG to recover some data.
I am including the electrical data of both notebooks:
PCG model- DC19.5V - 4.1 A
SZ2HP - DC19.5 V - 4.7 A
Would it work? Is there any other solution to recover the data on the old notebook?
Thanks a lot
Emiloo

Hi Emiloo and welcome to ClubVAIO.

As long as the connections are the same, (same plug, same polarity) you could try the power supply from the SZ. It should work OK.

Try this first - if it doesn't work, come back and we can look at other (more complicated) ideas.

Thanks a lot Blencogo for your response. I was not sure if the different amps values of both notebooks will make any mess. On Wednesday I will try and let you know.

Emiloo

Should be OK Emiloo.

The SZ Power Supply is the same voltage and the PCG draws less current (4.1 amp) than the maximum output available (4.7 amp).
