My problem is that when I push the power button the green light turns on but nothing else happen. I folowed the next steps
Shutdown and Unplug laptop.
Remove the battery from the laptop.
Wait 2-3 minutes
press ON (power button on laptop) for 1 minute
release the finger and wait one more minute.
plug in the power cable (dont insert battery yet) and press ON button.
It worked only once and the laptop turned on but this was it.

@ skraniot - welcome.
It sounds like this could be a hardware problem.
Is your Vaio still within warranty? A repair may be needed.

If your Vaio is new today, you have 4 options: -
1. If it has never worked, return it to the seller and ask for a replacement.
2. Try to fix it yourself by pressing the ASSIST button when the Vaio is powered off and follow the instructions for a complete Recovery from the Recovery Partition on the hard drive. This will take several hours - so make sure you are on mains power.
3. Contact Vaio Support (0800 to 1800 Weekdays)
Hover the pointer over SUPPORT at the top of this page
Choose Online Support
Click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of the next page
Choose Vaio and Computing
Enter your Vaio's Serial Number
You will be given various Contact Options for Vaio Support
(alternatively, phone 0870 2402408 and have your Vaio's Serial Number to hand)

I have same problem, the Sony after sales is useless, i took delivery of a highspec lap top today, which does not work, and with all the paper work there is only one support phone number and it asks for a case number when you call it.
I have requested a callback after calling a number of the website and nothing.
im sure there maybe a simple fix for the problem but as i am unable to speak to anyone how would i know.
