VAIO Update - Your model information could not be found on the server. Please try again later. (MessageID=0008)

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help. I've got a VAIO VGN-FE48E that I received about 2 weeks ago. If I click on the VAIO update logo in the system area of the taskbar, it comes up with this message 'Your model information could not be found on the server. Please try again later. (MessageID=0008)'. It is so annoying! Has anybody any advice to solve this?

The laptop came pre installed with Vista.

Hi scottiecoughlan and welcome to the forum.

I assume that you have been able to register your Vaio as you are here on the forum?

I suggest that you call Vaio-Link and ask them to add your serial number to the database.
