Vaio VGN-32M

I have had to install a new hard drive to my Notebook problem is the recovery discs will not allow me to recover to a working state, i just keep getting error 403 i have tried both recovery options neither work, i suspect the problem is there is not a recovery partition on the new drive.

Can anbody help or point me in the right direction.

Thanks dolly_60

Hi Dolly_60

Can you recheck your model type - you are quoting an invalid model and the instructions below may be slightly different for different models.

The Recovery Discs should replace the Recovery Partition but you must choose to Restore the Complete System.

If an Error 403  message is displayed when  attempting to perform a recovery on a new or unpartitioned hard drive,  restart the computer with the Recovery disc in the drive. Once at the VAIO Recovery Center  window, choose Restore Complete System , and then choose Skip . The error will occur when choosing any option other than Restore Complete System .
