Hi all my Vaio vgn A517S with doc has died so am looking to upgrade to a new vaio with a doc as well what would be a good equivalent model, i know thw spec will be higher but still want a 17" with the doc Cheers

Unfortunately, the newer docking stations don't have half the functionality of the older versions like yours.

Perhaps you could tell us which particular features of the docking station you would like to find on a new Vaio and I'm sure someone here can recommend a new model.  However, if you want a laptop with a large screen you will have to look at the VPCF-Series (16.4") or the VPCEJ-Series (17.3").

However, these can only use a USB docking station.
