VAIO VPCEH2H1E/W not recognising my SD cards.

Hi,

My VAIO VPCEH2H1E/W has suddenly decided to stop reading any of my SD cards.

It worked perfectly fine less than 2 weeks ago.

I used to access my card files via Computer>HD Card or Auto Detect would ask if I'd like to view my folders/files.

Now neither of these options work.

I desperately need to access my files from my SD card for a presentation on Monday, so I'm in a slight panic.

Is it a driver issue? My VAIO ran an update a few days ago ... Could this be the cause?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(The cards I use are San Disk 4GB SDHC and Lexar Premium 512MB SD)

Hi StephaniThatcher,

Is the device showing in Device Manager and is it reported as working correctly? You should find this under Disk Drives or possibly as an unknown device if the drivers are not installed correctly.

If you suspect an update may have caused the problem you could try a System Restore back to a date when you are certain the SD card reader was working.

Otherwise try reinstalling the original Realtek PCIE Card Reader driver from the Support site.
