Vaio wont start. it gives me the option to run in safe mode but the screen just stays black with the mouse cursor on it. Any ideas please :(

Control Alt delete doesnt work. Starting in Safe mode doesnt work.

I dont have any disks to help me.

Which Vaio model do you have and are there any ‘beeps’ or messages when you attempt to boot, does the boot process get as far as displaying the Vaio logo?

Assuming that the recovery partition is intact and you have a backup of any data you need then you could tap F10 at boot to enter the HDD recovery utility and restore to factory settings. However, if this is a hardware problem then this will not solve the problem.
