HI COULD ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME I MADE RECOVERY DISK AND HAVE NOTICED A SCRATCH ON THE DISK AND WHEN TRY TO RECOVER LAPTOP IT STOPS AT 17% THEN SAYS ERROR NOW I CANT USE LAPTOP. IS THERE ANYWHERE I CAN GET HOLD OF RECOVERY DISK

Hi rodserv and welcome to Club Vaio.

Have you tried turning your Vaio on -> Tap F10 repeatedly when you see the first Vaio Logo screen -> this should start the Recovery Utility from your Hard Drive Recovery Partition.

Choose a full recovery and make sure your Vaio is connected to the AC Power supply. Don't interrupt the recovery whatever happens - even if it appears to have stopped.

If it works then make a new set of Recovery Discs!

HI AND MANY THANKS .IVE TRIED THAT IT SAYS CANNOT RECOVER.IT MUST BE THAT MY HARD DRIVE HAS BEEN FORMATTED FROM WHEN I PUT RECOVERY DISK IN AND IT STOPPED AT 17% ?

It sounds like you will have to phone Sony Support tomorrow and ask them to send you a replacement set of Recovery Discs.

thanks foryour help. would the disks of someone elses of the same model work do you think ?
