VGN-P11Z Windows 7 upgrade

I purchased a lovely p11z a while before the windows 7 upgrade was offered. I do like it very much, but it's unbearably slow perfromance under vista means I avoid using it most of the time and only really use it when away on holiday. Can anyone help me with advice of how to actually purchase a windows 7 upgrade from sony, specifically for this machine, or alternatively, what I need to do to be able to install windows 7 on the p11z and get all the necessary drivers to work?

You will find the simplest way is to purchase an UPGRADE version of Windows 7 - like this one: -

The Upgrade version retains all your data, programs, settings, updates etc. and searches online for any drivers it cannot find.

With my model VGN-AR31S, I had to do nothing except run the disc and leave it for 2 hours. Everything worked perfectly afterwards and all devices were installed automatically. However, this is not always the case and for some models you may need to install Windows 7 specific drivers yourself. This is not particularly difficult but if you run into trouble someone will help you on this forum. All the drivers you may need can be found here for download: -

I recommend an UPGRADE - not a full version which will delete all your programs and data, format your disc and will need you to install all drivers manually.
