VGN-SZ71MN/B is there an easy upgrade to Win 7???

Sometimes I wonder why we continue paying the price we do for these Sony products when Sony keep pulling support too early on lots of models.

Due to there being NO Official Upgrade support fro the VGN-SZ71MN/B has anyone done a windows 7 upgrade and without problems?

Hello miksaint.

Your Vaio was originally equipped with Vista business, for upgrading it to W7 you only need to insert a W7 install disc and select the upgrade option when asked. Don´t select a new install....

Doing so W7 will use the vista drivers without problem.

Only must be carefull selecting the 32 bits version, I´m not sure the hardware of your model support 64bits.

I agree - an upgrade version of Windows 32-bit is the simplest way to upgrade.

I would download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor which will identify any components that are incompatible with Windows 7.  This will prevent any nasty surprises and pre-warn you of any Windows 7 specific drivers that you may have to source from other Vaios.
