vgn-x505vp problems

ive got a vgn-x505vp

recently it has got really slow in the start menu, especially when tryin to open the "my computer" window. [ "my computer" window taking roughly 30-40 minutes to become availiable to use after i have opened it ]

i have checked for spyware and viruses using "spyware doctor" and "norton antivirus", but no luck so far with finding a problem.

the hard drive has roughly 2GB of storage left, will this cause the problem??

has anyone else experienced a similar problem?? or have any suggestions??

Try moving some files off C to see if it makes a difference.

Also check your virtual memory settings to make sure that there is not a huge customised paging file that is using what is remaining of your free space on the C: drive. Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced Tab > Virtual Memory `Change¿ Tab.

thanx for your advice both of ya, but i good old fashioned bit of de-fragmenting sorted the problem!!

hopefully it wont break again soon.
