VGP-AC19V24

I vaguely remember reading an artical identifying a fault with some Sony Adapter/Chargers.

The adaptor that I have is VGP-AC19V24(for the VGN-FW31M)

The wire that comes out of the adaptor to the laptop is supported around where it comes out of the adaptor.

This has broken to the extent of showing the internal.

I do not believe that this is directly due to wear and tear.

I have never had this issue with previous Sony adapters

Does anyone know if this has been an issue with some adapters

Hi Paul_Daniel,

I think you are referring to the adaptor recall of two or three years ago. These adaptors were manufactured some while ago so I doubt that your VGN-FW31M is affected. In addition the recall was due to faulty insulation within the adaptor, nothing to do with the cable attachment.

If you are in any doubt then contact Sony Support.

so it seems YES the sony adapters do have issues in many aspects. and also seems like cheaper alternatives survive life better.

How can you possibly conclude this from two posts on a thread from another forum that was closed over four years ago?
