Viewing Digital TV Transmissions

I have recently acquired a Sony PCV-W1 and would like to be able to connect a digital set top box to it via the S-Video and Audio L/R sockets, rather than through the TV aerial socket. Any advice on how I can set up the PC to view digital TV transmissions by that neans? The hardware abd software guides don not seem to help much.

You can do it in 2 ways. Firstly, if your PC already has a TV card allowing you to view TV and also plug devices into it such as a camcorder or VCR then you can simply plug the digi box into it using the relevant cable with any converters needed and then view the broadcast on the correct channel of the TV card.
However, if you don't have a TV card or the TV card you do have does not have a video in, then you will need to buy either a dedicated video capture card or just buy a digital TV card and use that instead. Hauppauge www.hauppage.com have some good digital TV cards.
