Volume Control Area

I have a Pink VAIO VGN-CS21S

The Volume Control Area buttons do not now work or light up as before. There have been a number of updates recently so do not know what may have removed the controls.

In the manual these can be seen on page 15 and described on pages 36-38.

Can anyone tell me how to reinstate them.

The volume can be controlled by the speaker icon lower right on screen.

Hi bolshiebabs,

welcome to Questions & Answers..:smileyhappy:

Try this first..

Press & hold the window Key and press the R key.

In the Run box type Services.msc and press Enter.

Scroll down the list until you locate VAIO Event Service.

Then check the Vaio Event service states started, and startup type is set to Automatic.

If the Vaio Event service is as above try the following..

Download the following utilities from the Vaio support site (here) and install in order..

1. Sony Shared Library

2. Setting Utility Series

3. SFEP

4. Vaio Event Service

5. VAIO Control Center

Hi

Thanks for the reply but still not working.

The VAIO Event is there and shows STARTED & AUTOMATIC.

Carried out 1 - 5 but still not working.

This was originally VISTA when purchased but took SONYs offer and upgraded to Windows 7.

Has been working but not now, the AV MODE button in the middle works but not the volume control or its lights.

Regards
