VPC-F13Z1E/B CD/DVD BlueRay drive no longer works

Drive Model as in System Information. Pioneer BD-RW BDR-TD03.
Been having burning problems, Now it will not read a disc at all. Tried removing it in Device Manager, re-boot re install, even tried physically removing via 2 screws in case bad connnection, tried cleaning both laser heads. Even been onto Pioneer for a Firmware update, but drive is not listed, after spending several hours trying to find a firmware update had no luck whatsoever. I did read a few people having problems with this drive, has Sony had a recall for such a deffective drive???

Yeah, I have the same problem.
I was trying to burn a DVD and had an error at the end. After that my drive (BDR-TD003) won't see CD and DVD discs. Bluray discs working normally.

As you can see, i've had no reply here, I can only assume the drive has died...

I also have the same problem. I got my Vaio E series with this drive and will only read/play blu-ray films and does not read dvds/cds anymore.
