I have a VPCL14S1E All-in-One desktop Sony Vaio and the touch screen has stopped working. Have I inadvertantly switched it off or have I got a more serious problem?

Hi SailorBoy1,
In that case I’m not sure what the problem is.
You could try disabling the touch screen, shut down, reboot and then re-enable. Also, if this problem only happened recently you could try a system restore to a prior date when you know that the touch screen was working. If this resolves the issue then be very careful about which Microsoft updates you allow.

Hi SailorBoy1,
First check that the touch screen is enabled.
1. Click (Start) and Control Panel.
2. Click Hardware and Sound and Pen and Touch.
3. Click the Touch tab.
4. Check or uncheck the Use your finger as an input device check box. Checked: The touch screen is enabled. Unchecked: The touch screen is disabled.
5. Click OK.
If that is not the problem then try reinstalling the touchscreen driver.

Hi Rich 912, Many thanks for your prompt reply. I have checked that the touch screen is enabled and have re-installed the driver. It informed me that no changes were made as I had all of the latest drivers installed. So, unfortunately, still not working. Any other thoughts?

Did it come with an owner's manual or quick start guide? If not go to Sony's website and find it to download.
