I have just purchsed this laptop and want to use the onboard 3g instead of the dongle that has come with my vodafone UK SIM. The dongle & SIM works fine on my old machine but the Vaio will not see the SIM. It does see the prepackaged Orange one so the modem must be working. I have tried both the web2go sony sw and the vodafone sw.
Could it be a vodafone SIM incompatibility issue?
