Integrated webcam? I have the same kind of problem with my VPCF11Z1E. It works a moment but if I try to update some settings of the camera the computer loses connection with the camera. Weird.

Hi richjohn and welcome

Is the camera installed correctly in Device Manager?

It should appear under 'Imaging Devices' as a Sony Webcam.

Download the camera driver as part of your Original Drivers Package here: -

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-AR51J

Try Running the DPInst32.exe file in the Camera folder (if you have a 32-bit OS)

If that installs a Sony camera OK but if not come back and we can try to install it through Device Manager by using the 'Update Driver' and 'Have Disk' method.
