What a rip off!

After selling a product with a OS which does not work (Vista) on the understanding that one can "downgrade" to XP, Sony then inform its poor victims that they will have pay for this privilege. Complete rip-off!
If they accept that Vista has its problems, as they obviously do or they wouldn't provide the option to download the XP drivers and utilities, they should provide the XP OS for free; otherwise they are by their own admission selling a product unfit for the purpose for which it was sold.

You're saying that Vista has problems? Can I just ask what these problems are? There are known compatibility issues with certain programs - is there any other problems you have with it?

I'm running Vista Ultimate on my VAIO (which it came with) and I've not had any problems with the os it's self.

I have Vista home edition and not had problems with it. I think some old printers and other items may not have had a driver built for vista, but most products are ok.
