what is he normal tempreature for P4 with HT 3.06Ghz

My CPU seems to be running hot at around 72 Degrees celcius
Its a vaio K115Z

it regularly freezes an the second fan is constantly on after 15 minutes of booting from cold

I am thinking of upgrading the CPU , what would be the fastest CPU this unit can accept

Hi ali_mahmoud,

The maximum temperature for that processor is 71 c. I am therefore not surprised that you are experiencing problems!

The most probable cause is blocked cooling vents and I suggest that, in the first instance, you try clearing the vents with a can of compressed air. If that has no effect then it may be necessary to open the notebook in order to carry out a thorough clean of the vents and fan.

no such luck , I already cleaned the fan , assembly , intake and outtake grills ..... FULL CLEAN UP, so no dust in system

but it is still heating up.

anyone knows what fastest CPU can be installed in this laptop?

Maybe the CPU needs more thermal paste?
