White spots on laptop screen

I purchased a VGN-N11S laptop a little over a month ago. Today, I noticed the screen has developed white spots, mostly visible on a pale background. I have never suffered a problem like this on any machine before, and the laptop has been safely stored. Has anyone else suffered this problem, and is it one that will stay with the machine? And if it need to be repaired, who will I need to contact?

It's a new one to me too - although I see there was one previous similar thread

It does sound like a fault and if the spots are noticeable, I would take it up with the shop you bought it from or open a case with Vaio-Link.
