wi fi

Hello, I am quite new with my Vaio PCG K215 Z. My question is : to use teh Internet in WI FI mode, do I need to buy an Access Point ? Or the internal modem is able to connect without wire ?
Sorry if the question makes you laugh.
Can someone recommend a good router-modem ?
Thanks

The internal modem is for (wired) dial-up only. In order to connect using WiFi you will need an access point or a wireless-capable router.

Most people on here recommend NetGear for ease of set up and reliable use. Also, most of those people have broadband. You can use a router for a dial-up connection but it will of course be slow :slight_frown:

This site may give you a few pointers.

thank you everyone, things are getting clearer. I'll come back with questions about installing the whole gear:smileyconfused: ... later.
